Austin, Texas based band The Black Angels are touring with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (who I don’t like very much) and that disappoints me a little. What with The Flaming Lips announcing that they’ll be touring with Black Moth Super Rainbow I can’t see why The Black Angels didn’t get added to that line-up. I would drive at least 100 miles to see that show. At least.
I have listened to The Black Angels myspace songs about 6 times through and I don’t want to stop. They sound like a good mix of Zeppelin and Clinic with a little hardness thrown in for street cred. I want more. I might actually buy the album I like them so much. And I haven’t bought a CD in 4 years or more (and I’ve never used iTunes to get songs either). Let’s just say I’m not big on paying record companies. I support bands through shows and that’s how I like to keep it. But I want The Black Angels music loud and echoing through my now mostly empty apartment. I’ll roll back and forth on my skateboard and annoy the downstairs neighbors and let my hair grow long. In short: Rock and Roll.
