I’ve been feeling the grittier styles lately, probably as a result of all the cutesy, folky stuff that’s so popular right now. I like paintings that seem incomplete, but in a way that makes you think they’re just waiting to spring to life. I know, that’s a little esoteric, but it makes sense once you’ve seen the work of Tessar Lo. There’s a well developed and original style present, but more than that you can tell that there’s a lot of introspection and interplay of meanings in each piece. Like he’s trying to make Rorschach but his paintings come out instead. Someone needs to make this kid a star.
