NYC artist Regino Gonzales has only recently popped up on my radar thanks to the All-Star Hustlaz show that just went down. But you know how sometimes you see something for the first time and then it’s everywhere you look? Similar phenomenon with Mr. Gonzales. He was on my list of artists to look up when I happened upon this post by Jeff Soto on Fecal Face. There are some images of the work that Regino will be showing in an upcoming exhibition with Henry Lewis at Corey Helford in Culver City. Soto likes him. I like him. You should like him. Peer pressure works to make you better. I checked out his tattoo work, which was how he originally started in the art game, and it’s quality work. Then I looked at the scant offering of work he has in his paintings section, and was more than impressed. Put up more work, Regino. I needs it bad.
