Any of you who have ever encountered PEEL magazine or been to one of their shows would know that they love stickers, and they focus entirely on the subset of street art concerned with stick-ups. Any of you who have eyes should know what I’m talking about. Everywhere you look there are stickers clinging to walls, trying desperately to get your attention, to impart their message. The good folks of PEEL have finally put out a long-awaited hardcover book titled Peel: The Art of the Sticker. Like any of their great zines it comes with an array of stickers from the magazines contributors, but it’s filled with so much more. It’s really the story of the zine and it’s rise from humble beginnings to the driving force in the sticker art on the streets of major cities. You can preorder now and it will ship in February, and if you’re lucky enough to order early your copy will be signed by Dave and Holly, the proprietors of PEEL. $33 ain’t bad for a nice book to add to your street art tomes. Or mine, if someone out there wanted to hook a brother up with a copy. I need to start making wealthier friends.
The book is available from GORILLAmART.com.
