Richt

Bristol artist Richt describes himself as “an illustrator”, but, judging from the array of work on his Flickr site, I’d say he’s more than that. I feel like once someone starts doing canvases or walls they’ve moved beyond being just an illustrator. Richt’s work is mainly character-based with some brilliant, and curving organic elements. I like the colors he uses, bright and simple; using different shades of one base color and black for some of the linework. I like that there isn’t a lot of variation from his street art to his other works. A lot of artists try too hard to vary their style between those realms and end up with the work in one or both suffering. Richt’s got it good across the board. Someday I’d like to see one of his walls in person, or hell, work on one with him. Getting a passport is a good first step.
