I’ll be the first to admit that I was foolish. I haven’t checked in with Reed Danziger’s website in way too long, and that’s a terrible tragedy. She has her whole 2007 works online, and they inspired the hell out of me. Each one is like a dance of shape and color; a tiny, gentle ballet here, an explosive, percussionated samba there. The overlapping patterns, shapes, and lines put me in mind of music payed on the veins of leaves and in the blood of creation. They have the rhythm of the primordial ooze. How could that not inspire?
Update: How was I stupid enough to not mention that Reed has a show up at Hosfelt Gallery until May 3rd? See it if you can. I’m gonna visit this weekend.
