The painting style of Argentinian artist Diego Gravinese could probably best be described as Photorealistic Pop Surrealism. I would probably describe it as Good. I enjoy brevity. Gravinese creates paintings that are a strange collage of photos and memories living together in something akin to the Epcot Dome. Of course, photorealism requires a lot of detail so each painting is HUGE. But goddamn you can almost taste the Harvest Gold there’s so much vintage imagery floating around in each one. He doesn’t have a personal site, but you can check out his Flickr set to see most of his work. And to see how ridiculously cute he and his girlfriend are together.
