Michael Page

Michael Page
I’ve always liked when grotesqueries are portrayed in delightful pastels or feature innocent looking children. That concept, among other things, helped Mark Ryden and Ray Caesar skyrocket to stardom. Michael Page looks like he’s gonna round out that crowd with his smooth colors and monstrous scenes. I really appreciate his use of black in addition to the pastels, gives each painting a sort of “death metal holiday” feel. I also dig how his style sacrifices some dimensionality to draw focus to the characters actions. To sum all that up, I love the shit. Love it like Charles Bronson loved kicking ass. Now I’m gonna go rock some Cannibal Corpse on a sunny picnic. Page has given me urges.
