What do I knowabout Dan Rule? Nothing much at this point. At least nothing much about him as a person. I know that I fucking love his work. I know that I want one of his paintings or prints in my house. I know that his floating slices of land make me want to plotz. Hell yeah I just threw some Yiddish down. That’s how I’m rolling today. Dan’s work is sexualized (did I make that word up?), playful, and seriously intriguing. It reminds me of Josh Keyes or Aili Schmeltz or even Jacob Magraw, but all of those in combination, and with a figurative element to offset some of the abstraction. I need more. I need to know more. I’ll see what I can do.
