Ex-West Coaster turned Brooklynite Casey Weldon came out of nowhere this morning. I had seen some of his older work, and then forgot to check back to see what he’s been up to. And so much the worse for me since I had to spend an hour catching up on all the great work he’s put out. Apparently he’s been heavy into the album covers, which I always enjoy because it’s nice to see what someone will do with such a limited space. His larger canvases don’t disappoint either, and he’s definitely honed his skills to a razor sharp point since I saw his work last. Dude is defining Pop Surrealism with his paintings, and doing a damn good job of it. I’m just waiting on a Bay Area show now, Casey.
