These are like the zen rock gardens of paintings. Maybe it’s the mylar that she paints on, but it’s been a long time since I’ve been so in love with the motion of an artist’s brush strokes. The way she combines flowing, organic forms with more solid shapes, and the subtle use of color and washes, leave me quietly staring and smiling. Aleksandra Rdest, I am smitten with your work. I want to get one of them on my wall, and look at it for days. Seriously, welcome to my top ten.
