Isreali illustrator and motion graphics designer Gal Shkedi has a ridiculous awesome music video for Tom Waits’ Starving in the Belly of a Whale. The video was a Gal’s graduation project at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. Go. Watch. Drool.
If the name Joshua Davis doesn’t mean anything to you then you aren’t paying close enough attention. Innovative, influential, uber-talented, and widely renowned designer are only a beginning to what he has accomplished in his tenure in the design world. He’s responsible for developing entirely new systems for using technology to create original designs. And I don’t mean he’s just well versed in photoshop. I mean that he’s created systems that follow a set of variables to create completely original works themselves without his help. I can’t say enough about how important he is. I think he and I should play catch in the front yard sometime.
Some of you might not have seen the new Helio commercial that is like Bjork robot magic so here it is in all its embedded glory. Get ready for a lot more embedded videos in today’s posts. And by a lot I mean two.
This is a really cute commercial from A Twin Thing for Wrigley’s Extra gum. Good thing the gum is sugarfree, because the commercial is cute enough that my teeth feel a little more rotten.
Illustration styles vary with every artist, and even though there are some similarities each artist’s work ends up with its own voice if it’s any good. Source Creative, an English design firm, has several voices speaking loud and clear in a dazzling harmony. Multidisciplinary works that are still on the short side of perfect, but I can see that in a couple of years there won’t be a lot of competition left for this group.

I’m guilty about it but I’ve had a crush on this song for a while and now I feel even guiltier because I like the video. Tha animated t-shirts are a nice touch. I’m gonna go shake my hips and hate myself for it.

Being a jack of all trades usually means that you’re pretty good at a lot of things, but not great at any of them. Thanks to Mutt Ink the rest of us can feel a little bit worse about ourselves.
