The New Passport

Hey, congratulations, America! Our new passport looks like those ridiculously patriotic checks that your Republican uncle sends you for your birthday. Jesus, why not just put ponies and gamboling otters on the damn thing. I would actually prefer that in a lot of ways. No, in every way.

Transparent Screens

A great slidewhow. If I could figure out how to do this correctly with two monitors I would. Or if I cared at all about my work computer environment.

Nano Nurses

Apparently scientists have made some giant leaps in creating nanobots to live in your body and keep you healthy/immortal. That’s a plus for those of us who find that keeping ourselves immortal takes too much time and energy, but a minus for those of us who don’t want unstoppable robots to be in control of our internal organs. They’ve finally managed to convince us that we should let them live inside us. Well played, robots. You’ve won this round.

Note this sentence: The robot ‘motor’ is grafted heart muscle that is powered by sugars within the patient’s blood thereby foregoing the need for a cumbersome external power supply.

AWHUUUUUUUU?!!

Pictured is a nanobot preparing to boil your heart with its eye lasers because you drank too much kool-aid.

Phone Salesman Amazes Crowd

This was ok until they started playing Aerosmith. I still can’t believe that came out of that dude. And that the woman judge called him a lump of coal. Hah.

Easter Bunnies In Hell

Artist/Designer Sander Plug demonstrates the effects of extreme heat on Chocolate Easter Rabbits. It makes me both hungry and a little revolted. So that’s pretty standard for Easter.

Roger Arquer

Roger Arquer, the Philippe Starck of simple glass design, has just tipped his latest project: Non-lethal Mousetraps. You might have seen some of his previous project where he redesigned the traditional fish bowl. All of those designs were remarkable and now he’s done it again with very well thought out mousetraps. The great part is that you can make these yourself for about $1. Well, except for the lightbulb one. Unless you’ve done a lot of freebasing you probably don’t know where to find giant lightbulbs or how to cut the bottoms off of them. I knew that my sordid past would come in handy someday. In your fucking smug face, MCGruff.

GlamGuns

Ladies! Has your daughter succumbed to societal brainwashing? Does she refuse toy soldiers for Barbie and pass up BB guns for My Little Pony or Hello Kitty items? Have you despaired of interesting her in the practical aspects of life, such as weaponry and self-defense?

If so, this site is for YOU!

That’s taken straight off the front page of GlamGuns, a site that makes specially customized weapons for girls. Because guns are just as much for women as they are for men. Fuck me this is sweet.

Pictured is the limited edition Hello Kitty AK-47. This doll will set you back almost $1100. I have to say, I think it’s worth it.

The big question: Why don’t you already have one, Bunny? Now you know what to ask Lt. Delicious for come Crimmas-time.

Some videos

Gonna hit you with some sweet videos to make up for the impending lack of content. So if you’re still with us during the transition the rewards, as you will clearly see, are so so sweet. Here are a few quick video links that you will love so much you’ll try to electronically bond your eyes with your monitor screen. Don’t do that. It hurts.

NY Times: Avatars

The Times has a great slideshow up pairing people in real life with their online avatars. There are also stats about what game the avatar is from and how much time the person spends playing that game per week. You can tell a lot about a person by their avatar. Like a glimpse into their very nerdy desires.
